Monção

   The town of Monção is the head of a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 211.51 km² and a total population of 19,738 inhabitants (2006). Composed of 33 freguesias (parishes) and located in the district of Viana do Castelo, the municipality is delimited by the Spanish province of Galicia (North), and by the municipalities of Melgaço (East), Arcos de Valdevez (South), Paredes de Coura (Southwest) and Valença (West). 

   The municipality's highest point is Saint Anthony's High (Alto de Santo António), with 1114 metres of altitude. It is located in Riba de Mouro parish.
